Women and Digital Privacy: Protecting Health Data Post-Roe HCN FOR TIMELINE NEW SITE

During his State of the Union address, President Biden called for strengthening data privacy and platform transparency for all. Following the overturn of Roe v. Wade, over 50% of women in the United States live in states with hostile abortion laws. This webinar will discuss the role of digital privacy post-Roe. We will review the protections, limitations, and solutions to expand HIPAA, such as the newly introduced Secure Access for Essential Reproductive (SAFER) Health Act, as well as the role of entities that are not covered by HIPAA, such as tech companies and private organizations, to combat the unique digital challenges affecting women.
