Nearly two years ago, I was featured in Diversity Action Magazine. The article’s title was “Speaking for those ‘Between the Commas.‘ When asked why I founded the Women’s Institute for Science, Equity and Race, I would say I was tired of reading reports that said “women, except Black and Hispanic women,” and then whey continue with the results. I’d say, “I am more than “between the commas.”
In just 95 days, WISER will celebrate its 10th anniversary. Our vision is for a society that understands and addresses the needs of Asian, Black, Hispanic, Indigenous American, and multiracial women. We need your help to achieve this goal.
This #GivingTuesday, I ask you to commit to one of the four tasks outlined below for the next 16 months, from today until March 2026. WISER’s approach to disaggregating data is essential for uncovering nuances that can shape policy recommendations. Therefore, it is vital for us to share our data findings with potential funders, the media, and the public. By collaborating with these stakeholders, we can collectively work toward a more inclusive and equitable society for all.
