No Time for Shallow Tricks

Bid 2025 a firm farewell,
Its lessons clear in mind.
Well carry forward what it taught
And leave no voice behind.

Here comes 2026,
No time for shallow tricks.
365 opportunities to imagine,
Then act for change that sticks.

America turns 250 strong,
“We hold these truths,” we say—
That all are equal, free to thrive,
Is not our truth today. Disaggregating data, telling stories they conceal,
Revealing the gaps that numbers make real.
Here’s what we know after years in this game:
Equity isn’t optional—Inclusion is our aim.

We’ll name the hard, uncomfortable facts—
The gaps in pay, the missing voice, the data that distracts.
By design, structural bias—
Demands reform that’s actionable and pious.

For equity, WISER community,
Use data for truth and inclusion.
Please lift the voices long unheard,
Create systemic solutions.

The Women’s Institute for Science,
Equity and Race,
Wishes you a joyous year ahead—
Full of purpose, strength, and grace.
